Job searching is a business ? you?re an entrepreneur and the product you are selling is YOU! So in your job search, you must be prepared to sell your strengths and know your weaknesses. Your search must also zero in on a target market (an employer) that is the best fit for and need your product (again, you!). Bob Mahoney, President & CEO of Belmont Savings Bank, provides his Black Belt Techniques for the business of searching. Mahoney has interviewed hundreds of young people during his career and put together a seminar for college seniors and 20-somethings on how to improve the job-search process and make a great impression on a job interview. It?s a class he has given at colleges around the state, and students, he said, always come away with solid ideas and strategies for winning in the job market. Mahoney teamed with Tom Chevalier of Monster.com to present the seminar on January 6, 2011 for members of the Watertown-Belmont Chamber of Commerce.
