Weather restrictions are currently in effect on the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway Bridge, the Louisiana Department of Transportation said. Due to the heavy rainfall Tuesday morning, full weather restrictions are in effect on the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway Bridge and no motorcycles, RV's or glass trucks are allowed to drive on the bridge at this time.
The showers and thunderstorms are expected to last throughout the morning and drivers in the New Orleans area are warned to take caution and drive carefully during their morning commute.
