FEDERAL GRANT OF THE DAY
- Affordable Care Act (ACA) Maternal, Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting Program- The goal of the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) competitive grant program is to award additional funding to states that have sufficiently demonstrated the interest and capacity to enhance their home visiting efforts. Successful applicants will be awarded Federal fiscal year (FY) 2011 competitive grant funds, on top of the FY 2011 MIECHV formula based funds, to support the effective implementation of home visiting programs that are part of comprehensive, high-quality early childhood systems in all states. The purpose of this announcement is to promote quality implementation of home visiting programs to attain the outcomes desired. These competitive awards will continue the Health Resources and Services Administrations (HRSA) and Administration for Children and Families (ACF) commitment to comprehensive family services, coordinated and comprehensive statewide home visiting programs, and effective implementation of evidence-based practices by offering a competitive opportunity to amplify program efforts supported by the MIECHV formula grants program and other state resources.
